About Ilio Swim

 

Ilio Swim is a Danish swimwear brand born from a simple feeling: swimwear should make you feel incredible the moment you put it on.

I’m based in Copenhagen, and I started Ilio Swim because I could never quite find bikinis that fit the way I wanted them to—especially when it came to the bust. I was always searching for something that felt flattering and supportive, while still keeping that effortless, minimal look of a classic triangle bikini. But triangle bikinis were never enough for me—they lacked support, didn’t shape in the right way, and just didn’t feel right.

At the same time, I found myself frustrated with the details. I didn’t like the ties, the way they sat on the body, or the tan lines they left behind. It never felt clean or effortless.

So I decided to create my own version.

At Ilio Swim, every piece is designed with intention—created to highlight, support, and move with different body shapes, without overcomplicating the look. I’ve rethought the traditional bikini design by removing visible ties and instead introducing adjustable elements within the pieces themselves. This allows for a personalized fit, without compromising on aesthetics—and without unwanted tan lines.

My biggest inspiration has always been summer, sun, and travelling. Bikinis have never just been something I wear—they’re a part of the lifestyle I love most. Long days by the water, warm evenings, and that feeling of complete freedom in the sun.

That’s also where the name comes from. “Ilio” means sun in Greek, and for me, it represents warmth, glow, and effortless beauty. Each bikini is given a Greek name, tying every piece back to that same inspiration.
